SPECIALIST IN MATERIALS AND PROCESSES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW MATERIALS AND MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGIES (F/M/X)

Position Objective:

At ITP Aero, a leading company in the design, manufacturing, and service support of aeronautical turbines, we are looking to incorporate a professional with training in Materials and Manufacturing Processes to drive the development of new materials and innovative processes applicable to engine components.

The position will be located at ITP Aero Zamudio.

Your main responsibilities:

• Definition, launch, and monitoring of test campaigns.
• Post-processing of experimental results and generation of material data for the design of aeronautical components.
• Participate in the development and definition of specifications that establish the standards to be followed in the value chain of produced parts, ensuring the robustness and integrity of the complete process and the resulting parts.
• Definition of inspection criteria (NDTs) and acceptance of components manufactured by additive technologies.
• Lead coordination meetings with different areas of the company (with design, analysis, quality, purchasing specialists, etc.) and with technology centers, laboratories, and universities.
• Draft technical documents.

Who are we looking for?

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, physics, or chemistry.
• Experience: Previous research experience is valued, but not essential.

Knowledge valued:

• Materials and microstructure: Apply knowledge in materials and manufacturing processes for aeronautical components. Evaluate microstructures of metallic and composite materials to ensure performance. Manage aspects of corrosion, oxidation, and coatings in critical components.
• Manufacturing and joining processes: Knowledge in manufacturing such as forging, casting, machining, and additive manufacturing (LPBF, Binder Jet, Laser Metal Deposition – LMD, WAAM) and joining methods such as welding and brazing is valued. Knowledge of heat treatments for application in new materials. Knowledge in metallic powder manufacturing.
• Testing and characterization techniques: Perform mechanical tests to evaluate properties of materials and components. Know non-destructive inspection techniques (liquid penetrants, ultrasound, tomography, etc.) to ensure quality. Handle advanced laboratory equipment, such as optical and electron microscopes, for material analysis.
• Documentation and technical communication: Write clear and precise technical documentation on materials, processes, and test results. Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to multidisciplinary teams.
