⭐️Engineering Site Lead - India (F/M/X)

Objective of the position

We are looking for an Engineering Site Lead - to be part of the ITP Aero's strategic project in India. They will integrate all Engineering activities to meet business requirements for safety, quality, cost, deliver rate (SQCD). They will be technically accountable for developing/ delivering/ validating the capabilities that support the project requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Product Safety - Responsible for ensuring that product safety risks are understood and mitigated to meet the required safety levels and reduce the safety risks so far as is reasonably practicable. Champion product safety and promote a product safety culture, ensuring learning related to product safety is embedded
  • Develop talent - Act as professional leader to recruit, form and develop the team; ensuring required competences are in place and promoting the development and growth of the team. Drive accountability and enablement through engagement and coaching team members, so that everyone can be at their best.
  • Quality - Promote a culture of zero defects. Ensure that manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture are developed and deployed to support Right First Time manufacture. Ensure compliance to all relevant company, legislative and technical policies and standards
  • Technical Authority – Specify the Manufacturing Engineering and process requirements and make technical decisions in relation to the area of accountability. Governing change for area of accountability, subject to appropriate delegation
  • Planning - Deploy mechanisms to govern the Engineering deliverables, report status, and ensure issues and risks are resolved to meet project timescales. Manage team load/capacity plans and budgets
  • Develop capability - Buy-off the production readiness, manufacturing capabilities and methods of manufacture for the identified value streams
  • Deploy capability - Maintain and/or govern Production Technical Packages (technical instructions, programmes, tooling, etc). Ensure manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture within the business are capable of meeting and continuing to meet requirements for quality, cost and delivery rate
  • Minimum standards - Drive manufacturing processes towards identified consistent best practice
  • Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing - Operate as an active member of the engineering leadership team, proactively supporting cross-business collaboration, seeking of best practice, knowledge sharing, skills and process development to best utilise the available resources to deliver business needs and priorities.
  • Build external relationships - Manage, develop and maintain effective relationships internally and externally, ensure the requirements are understood and maximised
  • HSE - Responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture deployed within the area of accountability are in full compliance to Health, Safety & Environmental Standards and meet the expectations of the Zero Harm programme

It is essential that the successful candidate:

  • Professionally qualified Engineer (UK minimum BEng degree or other national equivalent)
  • UK CEng (Chartered Engineer) or other national equivalent
  • Extensive Manufacturing knowledge of Aerostructures Product including a good understanding of the design requirements and product functionality
  • Good awareness of Manufacturing Systems (CAD, CAM, CAPP, Manufacturing Execution System, Manufacturing Intelligence, SAP, Technical Publications, TeamCentre, PamStamp, Tru-Tops etc)
  • Has led complex projects/activities across a range of Manufacturing Engineering processes
  • Has provided technical and professional leadership to a team of Engineers
  • Has led manufacturing change, such as facility re-design, facility move, technology insertion, new product introduction, process revalidation, quality improvement.

Who will you be working with?

  • You will be part of the multidisciplinary team of this project reporting to the Senior Director of ITP India Development (Hard) and functionally to the Associate Director of Engineering, Aerostructures (dotted).

  • Days, working Monday to Friday
