Job Title: Compliance Officer – Direct & Indirect Tax / Regulatory Compliance

Job Summary
The Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring full statutory and regulatory compliance for the company in respect of Income Tax (including Transfer Pricing), GST, Export Oriented Unit (EOU) regulations, GST and other applicable government regulations. The role includes managing tax filings, coordinating with consultants and government authorities, maintaining statutory records, handling departmental audits and notices, and ensuring effective government liaisoning to maintain smooth regulatory operations for the manufacturing business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Income Tax Compliance (Direct Tax)
- Ensure timely preparation and filing of Income Tax Returns for the company and related entities.
- Monitor compliance under the Income-tax Act, including advance tax, TDS/TCS deductions, payments, and return filings.
- Preparation and filing of TDS/TCS returns and reconciliation with books of accounts.
- Handle tax scrutiny assessments, notices, appeals, and departmental queries.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors for tax planning, tax audit, and compliance matters.
- Maintain documentation and records required for tax audit and statutory audit.
- Track amendments in direct tax laws and ensure implementation in company processes.
2. Transfer Pricing Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Transfer Pricing regulations under the Income-tax Act.
- Coordinate preparation and maintenance of Transfer Pricing documentation (TP Study Report).
- Monitor international transactions and specified domestic transactions.
- Ensure timely filing of Form 3CEB and related transfer pricing disclosures.
- Coordinate with consultants for transfer pricing audits, assessments, and notices.
- Maintain documentation supporting arm’s length pricing for transactions with associated enterprises.
3. GST Compliance (Indirect Tax)
- Ensure timely preparation and filing of all GST returns including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, and other applicable returns.
- Monitor proper input tax credit (ITC) reconciliation with vendors and books of accounts.
- Ensure correct classification of goods/services and compliance with GST provisions applicable to manufacturing and exports.
- Handle GST audits, departmental notices, and assessments.
- Reconcile GST returns with financial statements.
- Ensure compliance for export transactions, LUT/Bond procedures, and refund claims.
- Coordinate with logistics, procurement, and sales teams for GST documentation.
4. EOU (Export Oriented Unit) Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations applicable to Export Oriented Units (EOU) under Foreign Trade Policy.
- Maintain proper records for duty-free import of raw materials, capital goods, and consumables.
- Monitor compliance with Net Foreign Exchange (NFE) obligations.
- Preparation and submission of periodic reports i.e. Form A, QPR, APR to the Development Commissioner and Customs authorities.
- Maintain statutory records related to bond registers, inventory records, and export documentation.
- Renewal of LOP, Green Card on timely basis
- Ensure compliance with procedures related to imports, exports, and bonded warehouse regulations.
Qualifications
- MBA (Finance) / M.Com with strong taxation experience
- Alternately Chartered Accountant having strong working experience
Experience
- 6–10 years of experience in taxation and regulatory compliance.
- Prior experience in manufacturing industry required.
- Experience in EOU / Export compliance will be highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of SAP
