GTF MRO Material Management Manager (F/M/X)

 

At ITP Aero Ajalvir we are looking to incorporate a Manager into the GTF Team.

 

Mission:

Reporting to the MRO GTF Operations Director, the candidate will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all material management activities required to support GTF engine shop visits throughout the Pratt & Whitney Gate Management process. The role is responsible for ensuring that all materials required for engine assembly are available, serviceable, traceable, and delivered on time, including new parts, internally repaired parts, externally repaired parts, and parts released as serviceable following inspection activities.

 

Main duties of the position:

Acting as the focal point for material readiness, this position drives cross-functional alignment across Supply Chain, Logistics, Inspection, Repair Operations, and Production to ensure successful completion of Gate 2 requirements and enable engine assembly to start assembly according to schedule commitments.

The role is also responsible for all pre-assembly kitting activities, ensuring complete and accurate kits are available to support efficient and uninterrupted engine assembly.

  • Own the planning, coordination, and day-to-day management of material readiness activities for each GTF engine shop visit.
  • Ensure the availability of all materials required to support engine assembly schedules, including:
  • New purchased, internally and externally repaired parts.
  • Serviceable parts released following inspection activities.
  • Customer-owned material and rotables when applicable.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously update material availability plans aligned with engine delivery commitments and Pratt & Whitney Gate Management requirements.
  • Monitor material progression through procurement, repair, inspection, logistics, warehousing, and production processes, identifying risks, bottlenecks, and recovery opportunities. 
  • Own and drive all activities associated with Engine Gate 2 - Material Readiness, ensuring each engine meets all material-related requirements before assembly release.
  • Lead Gate 2 readiness reviews, providing visibility of material status, shortages, critical risks, mitigation plans, and forecasted readiness dates.
  • Ensure the timely completion of all pre-assembly kitting activities, delivering complete, accurate, and assembly-ready kits in accordance with production schedules.
  • Manage engine-to-engine material allocation and swapping decisions, balancing operational priorities, customer commitments, and material availability to optimize overall shop performance and delivery objectives.

 

  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators, including: 
  • Gate 2 compliance.
  • Material availability.
  • Kit completeness.
  • Shortage performance.
  • Inventory accuracy.
  • Internal and external repair turnaround times.
  • Material-related On-Time Delivery performance.
  • Identify, escalate, and mitigate supply chain, repair, logistics, and material-related risks that could impact engine delivery commitments.
  • Define, coordinate, and track corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving material flow, visibility, traceability, and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare executive dashboards, readiness reports, and material performance analyses to support Operations and Program Management decision-making.
  • Support Continuous Improvement, and Digital Transformation initiatives
  • People and Health & Safety Management within his/her area of responsibility.

 

What profile are we looking for?

 

Background: Aerospace Engineer with more than 6 years of experience in MRO BU, Supply Chain roles. Direct experience leading teams.

Knowledge & Technical Competencies:

  • Knowledge of GTF engine architecture and Pratt & Whitney operational requirements.
  • Material planning, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
  • Knowledge of repair management and material recovery processes.
  • Advanced analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Experience with ERP and planning systems (SAP, Power BI, Excel or equivalent).
